For anyone who hasn’t had to go through this, y’all are so lucky. My dad forced me to live with random strangers when I was growing up AND as an adult. We got into arguments a lot over it. I hated how selfish my dad was. My mom was the same way. She forced me to live with some random dude that I didn’t know all because she was “in love”. Parents really need to think about the consequences of their actions instead of always saying “I’m the parent so I know what’s best for you.” He literally could’ve been a child molester for all she knew.

My grandmother once removed? (idk we just called her grandma when she’d visit lol) anyway she hosted foreign exchange students and would do a big road trip in the summer to show her exchange students the States. She’d always stop by and stay a few days and we’d get to do fun stuff with the exchange students. I loved them all so much and they were like cousins. Sometimes she’d host one student, once she hosted three girls at the same time all from the same school in Germany. They were all so sweet and I’m so glad shes done that the last like 20 years lol. She really took each student under her wing and still keeps in touch even years later. I always thought it was so precious.
