I'm on the old 240 with a made-in-China 60t ratchet.

A better comparison might be of the 54t ratchet, just to be fair.

240 exp for me. The 240 deg noise would get on my nerves

The ratchet exp has had lots of reported problems. The 90t deg freehub mostly reverts back to the original and super reliable prior design, but with higher engagement.
