As a Bari Sax player, our reeds are literally invincible half the time but if you literally bump it or it comes in contact with anything that isn’t your mouth, it dies.

one time i was cleaning out my clarinet case and i found a reed that was chipped REALLY badly and there was black mold growing on it 💀 no wonder i sounded terrible my entire 6th grade year 😂
