The photo of her mom waving goodbye by herself was the most heart breaking one for me. You can see and feel the sadness in her eyes presumably from no longer having her husband around.

I woke from a dream one year that I wouldn’t be able to hear my grandpa’s voice so I started recording him. Got 143 of our daily conversation recorded before he finally passed away a day before my wedding. I had moved to Canada to start my life and he was finishing his days in California. We were best friends. I also have a photo of him waving to me in his home from when I got a new camera. I wave to it and say, “hey, grandpa!”
Trust your intuition whe it comes to loved one’s leaving. You may be able to capture some fantastic memories before they go. I miss the sound of the shuffling of his feet, though. Never got a chance to record that, I don’t think.
