I like curved displays to hold on to (without a case), but if you try to grab the scrollbar in any app, the detection/touch fails because its too close to the edge.

I have the base model 8 and love it the fingerprint censor works fine on mine never had any problems with mine.

7 Pro to 8 Pro is an improvement. 8Pro to 9Pro is A LEAP. It's like between P5 and P6. So, I'm waiting for google to release the 10 series so that I can get the 9 Pro which is software-supported until 2031.

I have owned and still own this phone since Oct 2023. The finger sensor on the 8 Pro is so TRASH lol! That's why I use the face ID which is way better than the finger sensor on it. Overall the 8 Pro is nice but nothing amazing in my opinion.

When you say "you have to cough up some serious cash for the new model. So, it kind of defeats the purpose" (referring to the Pixel 9 Pro) I feel like I'm missing context as to what is the purpose π€
If I use my smarts, I think this video is a small snippet from a larger video which is talking about Android phones that are a great bang for your buck right now and why the Pixel 8 Pro falls in this category.
Otherwise, I'd have to disagree that it defeats the purpose to get the new 9 Pro for the extra cash. It is definitely a pro level devic

Agree with the power button. Either it should be on right and volumes on left or the power button below. Always makes me press the power button accidentally while watching videoes
