I learned on boards that had teeny tiny 1" noses. It was more like doing late flips or how you do them on free style boards.

It does though, there's just a lot of options. Front foot position controls the timing for the flick and back foot position can control the height of the pop and the direction the board goes underneath you. Ik ur probably well aware of this and just presenting a more understandable version for beginners, but i really think there would be a lot of benefits to explaining some of the nuances to beginners too. Personal I struggled for a long time with doing tricks correctly cause the info I heard was all just stuff like pop and flick, It only really started to click for me when i started thinking about it more like an art
