One of my favourite parts of team plasma is that while the grunts fully support the message they preach, the higher ups like Ghetsis and Colress couldn’t give a damn about it and just use the message to gain power. It’s one of the only times where a single team has had such a massive conflict within ITSELF and mirrors many organizations and groups of our time

Team Plasma is definitely the most believable villain team. Some the grunts actually believe in their cause for realistic reasons other than being jerks. In B2W2, the ex Team Plasma members devote themselves to taking care and protecting Pokemon because they care about the well-being of Pokemon.

I always had the idea that pokemon were originally trained out of necessity, you walk outside and *bam* there's a rat that can call down lightning like zeus personally smote you. So, instead of getting fried for leaving my house, i befriend a fire-breathing dog to protect me from the 7 foot tall man eating plants and zeus rats, And maybe I'll spar with my friend to practice protecting myself from the carp that turn into dragons on the regular. Legends Arceus does a good job to show the jubilife civilians fear of these animals with unpredictable power. You're not dog fighting, You're having a gaurd dog to protect you from the catfish that casually cause earthquakes from rolling over.

I think what makes them better is N and how he interacts with the players. He wants to see that you like many other people are wrong for owning Pokémon and sees it through by not only connecting with the pokemon you have but also battling you despite his inclination and wish not to. Keep in mind the first time he interacts with you is after a Plasma speech and he wants to se what your Pokémon think of you given you have them fight. He’s surprised when he sees that the Pokemon he’s connecting with actually likes you. If anything it makes me think about the idea that Wild Pokemon (at least in the context of the games) fight back because they want to see if you’re willing to put in the effort to catch them and create a bond with them. Plasma as a whole is interesting for challenging the worldview of Pokemon but N and the Player clearly are not of their mindset. Especially when it comes to Ghetsis….

i love how team plasma SEEMS to actively want to help pokemon until you realize and find out they're just thieves and terrorist's that want to cause a Coup with them in charge of everything AND do the same things they say they where stopping. Not to mention in black 2 we see those who actually BELIVED in helping pokemon and the side that is truely evil.

That actually ties in with their respective box legends. Zekrom is about ideals, the idea that every trainer CAN be good and working towards that while Reshiram represents the truth that it is a problem and working to fix it. Two different motivations for making the world better. There’s also something to say about truth and ideals being the duality in the American region.

I want to make a monster collecting game where the goal is to continue everyone to criminalize forcing the monsters to fight once another for their trainer's benefits, through either convincing them that it's extremely immoral or making them want to do anything to make it illegal for me to challenge the PresiKing to a duel with my cosmic cement dragon after I "accidentally" vaporized the last one with the backscatter from my first attack.

To those who have seen Captain America and The Winter Soldier, Team Plasma (Ghetsis and the grunts loyal to him and his beliefs) basically learned the same thing HYDRA did. When people know your intentions, they'll fight you. So they oppose the common ideology that Pokemon can befriend humans to change and establish their stats quo.

We'll never have a Team that makes everyone question how the world works like Team Plasma. We see the famous Ghetis speech right after our very first Pokemon Center visit. We see it so early and it stays in our minds the entire game. And we see it one last time when we reach the final city, after we've seen the Team's acts so many times.
And the chances we have a Team as close to victory (sort of) and as powerful in power and influence are very low too.

They realized plasma would make too much sense so they made the grunts at the very beginning kick the shit out of a muna so you know they’re evil 💀
