My DM toolkit also includes the Monster Manual, because when you start flipping players' faces go white.

I'm pretty much the only one at my games who's read the DMG. Now that I know it can be used like a judge's gavel, I should start bringing it. I won't even reference info in it, just remind them that it exists

Funnily enough I usually find that the players handbook is the most useful of the 3 core rulebooks for a dm, followed by the mm. The dmg is actually probably the one I use the least when dming.

Same here. When I first started, the 3 D&D booklets were all we had. Graph paper was included. Oh, don't forget the bong. Itcwascthe 70s. Lol

I also use a screen so I can roll dice behind amd say "hmmm" while looking concerned, to put them on edge sometimes.

As a dice goblin your assortment of mismatched die displeases me

From an old role-player here, old school is really the only School.

I find you can get away with a singular d6 just so the players think you are rolling.

What about your box of half-broken minis, Lego pieces, and pennies to represent your players and monsters during combat?

my dm tool kit is my phone. every DND book on DND beyond. dice rolling. I type faster then I write and it's alot easier to hide so I just use the app "notes"

but I also have 5 sets of dice cuz why not

I got a special napkin captioned "Roleplay Lord" that I give to my worst player. It became a core part of my DM toolkit

Mine is this plus my phone with a bunch of reference apps. Much faster than books for things like spells.

Simple but effective. I usually try to have at least 2 of each dice but that's my kit. 😁

My DM toolkit includes literally everything my players need to play (minus most of their characters sheets) so dice, paper, phb, etc.
