Idk I’ve suffered many years from a flappy top of the headsail and honestly I didn’t know what to do.
It only started when I started teaching and fuckign around with passionate learners on every lil bit of the boat that I understood whats going on there.
So it’s pretty simple, we change the direction of where we pull the headsail from, the more backwards the car is the more we’re pulling the bottom part of the sail in relation to the top.
The more forward the car is the more we pull the headsail from the top and closing it a bit more.

So if the top need to get more tight while the bottom looks good ? Move car forward.
If the top looks too tight and the bottom looks good, move the car backwards.
