Once had a teacher who threw a stapler at a student who wouldn't stop talking. Another who drove their car into a lake (either on purpose or due to lack of sleep, we never found out). You want to give them the option to bring a gun into a building with hundreds of kids/teens.... Teachers are not trained law enforcement. They're underpaid, overworked, and underappreciated people who want to make sure our kids don't end up as idiotic adults. And instead of increasing funding to public education. Paying what they are worth. Addressing the corruption of school leadership. You want to give them.... guns....

Go on strike and demand an additional $67,000 more a year per teacher. You're no longer JUST teachers, you're now bodyguards, security guards, policemen AND teachers combined.

Only teachers wanting to carry will be armed, they are not forced to. And in so many instances an armed citizen could have stopped a shooting by someone as deranged in their own way as these people.
