I've watched the Blue Angels perform during San Francisco Fleetweek since 1980 when they flew the A4 Skyhawks. Think I only missed a few shows. It's a must see show.

Most people just don't know and can't appreciate just how loud and fast they are. I love how jets, particularly fighters, get even those not that into planes very excited. My bride was sort of "whatever, sure we can go with them practice". She walked away very impressed.

My Aunt's house at the corner of Lombard and Hyde was dead-center below the lead jet flying maybe 500' at 500mph. Nothing, and then a roar beyond imagining.
From the roof we could watch the form-ups at East Bay and on outside of G.G. Bridge...and the entire show was between Chrissie Fueld and Alcataraz. Astonishingly loud, ridiculous choreography...

Speical thanks to Doc Buchanan (Blue Angels Flight Surgeon, 1997 - 1998) for letting me know the Blues also gave the 1998 Super Bowl a thrill as well.
