Sayyudul Isthighfaar
Virtue: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The best supplication for seeking forgiveness is (Syed-ul-Istighfar)".


اللهُمَّ انْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Allahumma anta Rabbee laa ilaaha illaa anta
O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You,

خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ
Khalaqtanee wa anaa A'bduka, wa anaa a'laa a'hdika
You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide to Your covenant

وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ
wa wa'dika masthathwa'tu,
and promise [to honour it] as best I can,




أعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ ،
A'uzubikka min sharri maa swana'thu
I take refuge in You from the evil of which I committed

أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَى ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي
Aboo,u lakka bini'mathikka a'layya, wa aboo,u lakka bizambee
I acknowledge Your favour upon me and I acknowledge my sin,

فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Faghfirlee fainnahuu laa yaghfiru zzunooba illaa antha.
so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sins except you


If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it and dies on the same day before the evening, they will be from the people of Paradise and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it and dies before the morning they will be from the people of Paradise.
