Learning the stats for adults with ADHD who are taking medication vs those who aren't and the increased risk for car accidents and other dangerous accidents causing major injury or death really helped me recognize that my meds aren't just a "make my life easier" thing, or something to be ashamed of, that if i worked harder at, i could go without, but they're seriously beneficial, and its not just for my benefit, either.

Adderal saved me from a miserable life. I caught up with two years of curriculum (kindergarten and grade one) within two months and didn’t have to be held back, i’m blessed to have these meds, they have improved my life quality and allowed me to be happy, i pity students whose parents don’t believe in medication, I think the parents have lost their minds in all honesty, so sad

I rarely can tell when I take my meds. But I sure as hell can tell when I don't 😂

Driving with unmedicated ADHD is statistically pretty similar to driving drunk

most studies on medications inculding ADHD meds are majorily done on men, and have a vastly differnt effect on women. Its quite sad, there needs to be more testing for women too. Hormones fluctuating can effect adhd medications efficiency for women.

i would like to argue the lack of long-term side effect studies for a lot of medications, and by long term I mean a person prescribed at 8 who keeps taking the medication into highschool. most "long term side effect" studies i see are only with 5 years of data...

Yes but not for 2 year olds, they tried doing that to me after the typical gamut at that age (positive for hyperactivity). Nowadays I feel like I would stant to benefit but idk what to or where to start (thanks for that one dsm 5)

I hate that neurotypicals are the ones who abuse this medication as recreational drugs, but that problem affects its availabilty for us people who actually need it.

We get diagnosed later and put on meds later, we get put on low doses, in low frequencies, and are treated with suspicion just because the people who DON'T need it are using it in problematic ways.

Imagine if heart patients can't get their meds because people with healthy hearts experience negative effects when they take these meds. These meds are not FOR neurotypical people, so don't treat us like criminals when we DO need these meds to function like regular happy human beings.

ADHD is a teacher problem, not a child problem. The overstory is that taking the medication teaches kids that they can change their mode. That's not what you want for kids. It is impossible for parents to know when a medical professional really knows how to prescribe exactly the right medication. Teaching kids how to focus is difficult. That's the challenge for teachers. Not anyone else.
