I see submission for women in the Bible not in the context of the Old Testament where women can’t speak in church or have to wear head dresses. Instead, I look to where it talks about husbands caring for their wives. In this instance, the woman must “submit” and allow him to care for her. It means so much to my significant other when I allow him to help me, do things for me, etc. Submission is about allowing your husband or wife to love you. And of course it goes both ways. But acknowledging that context has changed from historical times, and we don’t need to take submission so literally. Instead, think about how submission helps your individual relationship.

So well put. Describing submission from the framework of creating peace in marriage via sacrifice is what young Christian’s need to hear!!
