Thanks for the video,... but your numbers are incorrect.
In the war in Italy, Brazil actually lost a little over 450 soldiers. These soldiers were along incorporated into the 5th American Army.
The Brazilian Merchant Navy had around 35 ships sunken by the nazis subs and circa 1000 people died, mostly in the Brazilian coast.
Brazil was officially "neutral" in the war but it was an important supplier of all matter of goods to the Allies.
It came a point where the nazis started sinking Merchant Navy ships ... then the country tilted to declare war to the Axis due to popular pressure.

We always think of the Soviets,Americans, and the British we never think of think of countries like Brazil,Belguim,France,Poland,China,Canada,Yugoslavia,Norway,South Africa,New Zeland,India,Kenya,Denmark,Luxembourg,Netherlands,Australia,India and so many other countries that not only fought for their countries freedom they were fighting for a free world for us all for evrey inch of the world, saddest part is countries like France,Poland,Denmark are made fun of for surredinering even though like France made MAJOR contributions to the Allied Victory

In case of any interest...
There's in fact an important military monument in the city of Pistoia, nearby Florence, related to Brazil in the 2nd World War.
It is the place the soldiers were initially buried. After the war all their remains were brought back to Brazil and are in a monument in Rio.
The monument in Italy resembles a cemetery and you can see their names in the ground to mark the memory, but their remains in fact returned to Brazil.
I have been there once and will go there again some day before I go for good.
