Every morn, when I make our pot of coffee, I take the filter full of yesterday's spent coffee and put it, filter and all, in a small trash can that I keep next to my coffee bar. Every Sat. morn, my grandson takes the trash can out to the compost pile and dumps it. Part of his weekly chores so he can get his allowance. He's 7 years old and loves to help Oma in the garden.
