The gospels in the New Testament were not written by eyewitnesses and not even at the time, but decades later by anonymous authors in the third person. The names Matthew, Mark, Luke & John were added later out of tradition. Most Christian scholars even accept and understand this, with the exception of fundamentalists.

I would have thought if God existed and he was going to do anything like that to convince people or whatever, he would have done it where Jesus rose from the dead in front of all kinds of credible people in such a way that it would be difficult to deny, but being 2000 years ago is a stupid time to do it anyway since now a days we have cameras etc
The way I see it, these are typical beliefs of people of the time. We know better now, and we will know more as time passes.

All claims only require evidence whether extraordinary or not. That quote by Carl Sagan doesn’t prove to be more philosophically true just because the man who said it was smart.
