🍂 As fall leaves crunch underfoot and crisp air welcomes in the holiday season, gather your little ones for a craft that combines creative fun with an attitude of gratitude. With this Thanksgiving Gratitude Pie, children can create an edible-looking keepsake while reflecting on the people, experiences, and simple joys that make them feel thankful. The process begins by decorating the pie "crust" - a sturdy paper plate that allows little hands to explore patterns, textures, and colors as they glue, paint, and decorate. But the sweetest part comes next as children cut out "pie slices" from colored paper and write or draw representations of what they feel grateful for this year. Maybe it's a picture of their family, a beloved pet, or a special outing that made lasting memories. Once assembled and decorated with care, this Gratitude Pie makes a heartfelt centerpiece for Thanksgiving dinner or a thoughtful gift for loved ones. More importantly, it creates a bonding experience for families to discuss the true meaning of the season together.

Materials:
3 paper plates
Brown paper
Orange paper
1 brad (to hold plates together)
Glue
Marker

Instructions:
1. Take one paper plate and cut a slice out to represent a piece of pie. This will be the pie shape.
2. Cut strips of brown construction paper to create a crisscross pattern on the “pie” to represent a lattice crust. Glue these onto the top of the pie slice.
3. Cut a piece of orange construction paper to fit within the cut slice of the paper plate. Glue this onto the plate so it looks like the filling of a pie.
4. Use a marker or stickers to write what you are thankful for on the pie, or let kids decorate it with Thanksgiving-themed decorations.
5. Glue the paper plates together to create a layered pie look, and add additional decorations as desired.
