Maybe the reason they didn't mention this battle was because in the longer context of history it was .. well completely pointless?
The Turks might have been decimated and the Islamic conquest of India halted but a 100 years in a hisortical context is literally just 2 generations of a family.
Whether we like it or not, when the Turks did return, they finished off the Indian resistance and took over.
It's pointless to even learn about this battle.
At most, it would be a footnote in the history of India.
Now, had the winning Hindu chieftans, after decimating the Turk army, created a plan, then taken the battle to the Turks, ousting them from central India and pushing them back to the region of Afghanistan or beyond, now we have a story to tell that would be worth mentioning
