Rear wheel drive and straight-six engines, in a sub compact car, something that only BMW has the balls to pull off.
That long hood and short body create a really weird but unique design.
The 1 series offers a truly fun and sporty experience in a segment where cost saving is the main focus of all car makers.
While it was a lot of fun to drive it was compromised when it came to practicality, this and high costs forced BMW to make the 1 series front wheel drive for the latest generation.
The old 1 series will be remembered as a car with soul in a category hard to find such thing.

The 2.5l 5cyl in the RS3 and TTRS ain't no slouch either. With some heavy modding it can get up to 1000hp+.
