To each their own but you can buy a 4.8 or 5.3 ls for like 500$ do a cam swap for 500$ turbo kit for 1k and now youre making a minimum of 800whp and it sounds glorious

I loved my 99 civic SI when I had her but the car that made me luv a turbo 4 was my SAAB Aero 04 .. it’s just something about that car that I just cant shake thousands of miles later half a dozen cars since and I still find myself reminiscing about her … I miss you Denice wherever you may be ..

B series are excellent engines BUT I’d go 2.4 block K-series and sleeve the cylinder block, larger valves in the head, forged internals upgrade fuel management system, 88mm turbo 1000 horsepower and a few other things pm

My D16 SOHC VTEC with a single Chinese Ebay turbo made 450 to the front wheels, it was also INSANELY reliable! I drove that car for almost 9 years, 3 years with the B18 GSR engine and the last 6 years with the stock D16 w/turbo. I drove it like I stole it every damned day too! I went through so many front tires that I'd go buy 4 used tires for $75 at the end of every month. It was a pretty awesome deal because they almost always had matching sets of tires and they usually had 60% or sometimes more tread left on them.

A turbo and some mods? U mean a complete built engine from the ground up when you say that. New ECU, fuel system, now u need slicks and wheels then throw in all the safety stuff to not get kicked off the track next. Next u need custom axels, multi disc clutch to get that power to the ground and sending your car forward. Now tuning and dyno time and all the misc little things thst come up along your way. Lets see a car at this level that actually works and can lay down passes without blowing up instead of 1 duno sheet from 2 years ago cuz the car is constantly down for something.

Any motor that you put upgraded rods, pistons and sleeves in will obviously hold way more horsepower than it’s rated for🙄

K series is an improvement on the B series. K24/20 frank is the same as this video, except the roof is waaaaaay higher.
The heads on b series dont flow like K series, youre missing that essential part.

This man is talking about the supporting mods to be able to safely hold that power. We all know pistons and rods alone won’t bring 500. But, your fuel, management, forced induction and the pistons and rods (as far as internals) WILL get you there. He’s talking internals people. Not the other stuff. Wow. Yes sir B series are no joke.
