I’m picking Neo Metal because his design and actual personality are way better than regular metals, and also regular metal has been in so much sonic media in recent years with zero personality or interesting moments. Really goes to show how over saturation can ruin a character

Neo Metal is a cool character I hope we see again. Metal looked pretty depressed when he reverted back to his original form back in the early 2000’s. He’s had 2 decades of games to plan a retaliation. Metal should get the Xmen 97 Bastion treatment where he learns from the mistakes of all the other Sonic baddies and evolves into a true threat post Sonic Frontiers

I always figured Neo was an Archie comic name for him.

Different villains for different roles. Neo has too much of a big boss appearance for the henchman role, but standard Metal Sonic looks like a perfect robotic enforcer. On the flip side, standard Metal would appear underrated as a final boss, especially following Perfect Chaos and the Finalhazard.

I prefer the traditional, just because like hyper Sonic it's nice in few does. Like a snack vs a desert, when you eat a cake vs chips you savor and enjoy it more. So... ish I guess I like Neo about the same.
