Physical games are still necessary, we shouldn't move on to digital games now. That disc is in your hands, and nobody can take it away. It doesn't play the game off the disc, thats why it copies to the internal storage. Sony can't take away your physical games, unlike digital games which can just disappear when Sony wants them to.

This is just not a good message. Having the physical disc means you have the game forever while digital games can be taken away if the license runs out or if they just don't want to support it anymore. If they change to the next console then all your digital games could also be left as well

Just want to point out that the disc based games donât play off the disc. They just copy their information to the console. Disc based games are better for longevity. What will you do if the ps store goes down and your console breaks? All those digital games gone foreverâŚ

The only problem I have with moving away from physical media is we're starting to see a trend of digital media companies deleting media. I've read reports from numerous people that purchases that they've made whether songs or movies have been deleted from their PlayStations or from their Xboxes Now I don't know for sure if it's happening with games yet but moving into full digital without having a physical backup kind of seems detrimental to me. It feels like it's going to kill the used game market. Which I think is what the gaming industry is trying to do.

I felt this way too when I got a PS4. Then games started disappearing off the digital store and some don't function at all w/o an internet connection. I went back to physical REAL quick..
