Honestly, Edgar depends on the player. Yeah, he has MANY counters, is the worst brawler and all, but he's okay if you use him right. It's either "edgar takes no skill" or "edgar needs a nerf".

Gadget: sweet dreams when an no-skill wants to get close use it and then from range. Work with:
Edgar,buzz, and kit.
Also you can use it on Collete,Bull, Brock and barley to waste their super
Star power: rude winds use it at the edge of the bushes to check for enemies. And it good to prevent enemies to heal inside of the sandstorm.
Gears: for knockout,brawl ball, wipeout and heist:damage gear and +1 gadgets.
And for gem grab and hot zone: damage gear and his mithic gear exhausting storm
When you play at high trophies you'll start to learn to move unexpectedly and dodge bette
