Minimum subfloor thickness for tile
Is 1ā 1/8 and 2x8 at 16ā on center. It looks like adding another floor

Why wouldn't you just keep the current plywood, and adhere additional support on top, and add a ditra mat onto that. Then you have dimensional stability, and the ability for some movement with the mat and a polymerized mortar

Your replies to other comments, are overly defensive. An uncoupling membrane wouldāve worked after screwing down the deck more and you know it.
