I like glass bricks. Such a great way to use natural light while still maintaining privacy.

An old school was being torn down and the library had a wall built with these and I asked the demo crew for them. No one told me no, and the foreman just said “don’t get hurt and cry to us.” I took home three S10 pickup loads and have used them as privacy windows. They’re very simple to install for any level of project.

As someone who moved from Chicago to Atlanta, I didn’t realize that I missed those glass brick designs. Felt like something was missing down here

The vibes of glass bricks gave off a sort of serenity. It always gave me a sense of calm and comfort.

Here in the UK, glass bricks remind me of my junior school which was built in the 50s.

The glass bricks have so many positives, but a huge negative is how COLD they get in winter. They create so much moisture and draftiness, especially in a small space. Having drapes or curtains in front of them helps, but as a chronically cold person this design is not one of my favorites in terms of functionality. I would just consider that before investing in them!

I used to not like glass brick but as I continue to learn more about interior design the more I love them. There are so many different types of glass brick too! Not just the square ones

I grew up with glass brick in my bedroom. It was beautiful. I covered it in stickers and stuff over the years. Mostly sticky notes.

I always loved the idea of a glass brick shower wall curved yet open ended to have privacy but still feel part of the room.

Glassbricks are so versitile in terms of design, I absolutely LOVE them! I am so happy that architects want to bring them back!

I remember a lot of places from 50's-70's, especially public buildings, having those. Always looked old, as all new styles eventually do. However, just recently, I saw my neighbour's freshly renovated bathroom, and they used them as the upper part of an interior wall, and it looked so fresh and modern. Maybe it was just the newer design of the bricks themselves, but It's funny how things cycle in and out of fashion.

Don't forget it was also very popular in the 80's. Last image btw is the Chanel store in Amsterdam, I believe now Hermes is in it.

Grew up in the pittsburgh area and never thought much of glass brick. You are making me realize that since I have moved away, I have seen it so little. Barely any in the last 2 years. Huh, ya'know. Now I miss it.

Just picked up a box of a dozen at a yardsale for $10.. bluish green tint. They've never been installed anywhere and judging by the cardboard box they've been sitting in a basement for decades. My dad bult my childhood home and used a single row vertically for a sidelight to our front door. I am getting ready to reno my house.. I think I will now do the same. Miss my father terribly.😢☀

My house in Nigeria had glass bricks framing one of our doors for years before we renovated a few years ago. They were very nice to look at.

I wish they used the other designs more often. These uncommon glass brick types look gorgeous.

In Romania, many appartment blocks build between the 50’s and mid 70’s had balconies or staircases which were build/decorated using glass brick instead of windows
