A while back you did a video about preventing this very thing by putting using anti-seize compound on the axles. I did that with my snowblower and rototiller for this very reason. Thanks for sharing this.

Proves how a little anti-seize is well worth a few dollars for a can of it......Take care, Bluefin.

I had to do that to mine this fall. I was lucky as to not have to remove the drive shaft from the blower. It did take a while to get it off. I used antiseize on them when reinstalling.

It's amazing how Brand New Snow Blowers, especially Ariens, have no grease or anti-seize on the axles. That's the first thing I do to a new blower, remove the wheels and grease them up! Good vid Don, Happy Holidays to you and yours!

That's all fine and good if you can get one of and pull the shaft with the other one but I have an old Simplicity with both wheels frozen to the shaft. I tried MAP gas and wedging from behind for a reverse press but no go. I'm going to have to either cut the shaft and work it that way, or use a method I saw on another channel where holes were drilled in the wheel and bolts and nuts were used to reverse press it off...along with heating it up.
Love this channel though. I've fixed so many things on my old Simplicity because of what I've learned here. 👍

If you're not in a hurry just drip some marvel mystery oil and be patient. My mom won't let me play with fire anymore. 😮

Maintenance tip... When you buy a snowblower, assuming it's new. Take the wheels off, and apply a liberal amount of anti seize. Thank me later.

You'r lucky that the tire didn't pop. I was told to either remove the tire or at least the valve stem core before using a torch on small wheels.

I don't know how i ever got by without an acetylene torch. You'd have that thing off in 30 seconds at a quarter the price of that yellow gas
