For a lot of people with anxiety, it's a productive outlet for nervous energy.
It took me a long time to learn that my mom cleaning areas for me was an act of service and love. It was difficult for me to accept that she was just trying to help me in the areas she could anticipate that needed help without anyone asking her to (because this is what she wanted done for her).
I'm wired differently, and I take offense to unsolicited help when younger.. BUT .. I've leaned to accept and understand that her actions are intended as loving.

Being a mother, I understand. When i go to one of my childrens homes, I clean just because I know how hard it is to have kids and work. I do because I love them and want to help

Im terrible at cleaning beyond the obvious visible layers. When I was a kid my moms punishment was for us to wash walls or clean out cupboards and pantry to wash the shelves, also to reorganize and iron towels and sheets. Girl, I have not ironed a single sheet or towel since I was a teen and I'm 49 now. I did not get her cleaning gene. Lol

This is the same with my granny, every time she comes down to see us she deep cleans at least one thing, last time she came down I caught her deep cleaning our fridge, she even got toothpicks and cleaned out all the hard to reach areas. I love her but I always feel so bad because she has really bad back pain but she won’t give up so I always end up helping her deep clean random stuff or I try and distract her. Love you granny ❤

The way you described your mom is exactly how my mom is!!! I always thought it was different when I went to a friends house and their mom would sit on the couch. I promise you I've never seen my mom sit in the living room and watch TV during the day as a break lol

My mom was the same! I would come home from work and she would be in my front yard pulling weeds. :D She has late stage dementia now, Your video brought back great memories for me.
