Empty Open World? Assassin’s Creed Shadows
#gaming #assassinscreedshadows #assassinscreed #assassincreeorigins

Assassin's Creed stands as an expansive gaming franchise in the realms of open-world, action-adventure, and stealth genres. Ubisoft, the publisher, primarily entrusts the development to its studio, Ubisoft Montreal, utilizing the Anvil game engine and its more advanced iterations. Conceived by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the video game series explores a fictional, age-old conflict between the Order of Assassins advocating for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar seeking peace through order and control. The narrative weaves together historical fiction, science fiction, and fictional characters, intricately entwined with genuine historical events and figures. Throughout most games, players navigate the storyline by assuming the role of a historical Assassin, concurrently experiencing the perspective of an Assassin Initiate or a character entangled in the present-day Assassin–Templar conflict. Recognized as a spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia series, Assassin's Creed drew inspiration from Vladimir Bartol's novel "Alamut," which, in turn, is rooted in the historical Hashashin sect of the medieval Middle East.

That's why I like revelations and unity, absolutely packed with things to do. Origins has content and it makes sense there's spaces that are empty because of the empty desert.

For me personally, i enjoy the open world of any AC games for its accuracy with the real life counterparts, especially buildings or landmarks. Sometimes, i open a google maps page and compare the locations in game with the real ones.

Think thats one thing AC Odyssey did well. The map was really big but it was filled with tons of side quests. Even the side quests had sider quests 😂

I do agree, I really hope Shadows will have Japan feeling of substance. Bunch of intuitive side quests, camps or bases to infiltrate.

Even something as simple as a random Samurai wanting to challenge the player to a duel. Or helping a farmer carry a bunch of hay. Or freeing an innocent prisoner. We're just gonna have to see, just sprouting some ideas out here.

That’s my second biggest worry, To me the world looks beautiful, the combat looks improved, the stealth is sexy but the parkour and quest variety is where I’m afraid, parkour is meh but I hope for it to be insane and the side content has a lot of potential from the season system , so I hope it lives up to expectations, if season’s system is deep enough and they add in meaningful side content, the game is gonna be sexy

AC Odyssey had the right kind of balance between open spaces and content. Hopefully Shadows can apply that same ratio or add more content per open space as Japan is a lof smaller than the Aegean.

People always complain when games aren’t realistic, but when games are realistic, people complain, too. Dear snowflakes. Have you noticed between towns and cities, the vastness of absolutely nothing to do? Even in modern times, just fields, forests, etc., and ancient times there were less people, meaning more open spaces. 😂
