For small tubing like that, I’ve started exclusively using John Guest style quick connect fittings, unless the housing or o-rings are incompatible. You can get bulkhead fittings, tees, check valves, ball valves, etc etc all at your local hardware store

I make hydraulic, ac, brake, ag, power wash, and steel tubing or dot tubing every day. I also hate compression 😂

Heat up the tuning ro make it more pliable. Honeslyy though, dont know why they make brass compression fittings for poly ecen wirh am insert. Better off using a barb amd a spring clamp.

Compression fittings like swagelok with teflon ferrule for tubing like that is my go to.
