With that much distortion they all sound similar. Into a clean amp the differences can be huge.

For clean tone... Yes
But with all that Dist.... Not much

Probably depends on the amp settings and the amp. A certian level of certain gain will turn any input signal to something more less identical.... So it seems.

Some badass cords love the dissonance

I believe so, nice Demo, cutting the edge of the board with those open chord shapes, a lot of different tones arise in each guitar, pretty cool! Thanks

Clean they sure do and with distortion as well. A single verses a humbucker. Yes very different. And it also depends on what he's playing thru here. Come on people let you own ears tell you. How about a five position switch on a guitar. Can't you tell the difference?? Or when splitting coils.

With that much gain they sound sorta similar. I can hear single coil verse humbucker. If you want that much gain and want them or even the same guitar you are using to sound different, try different speakers and mic placements or even maybe different mics. If you are using mics. But my option they sound close with that gain. I like your tone though brother.
Just a side note. I’ve been playing a long time now, I’m old lol but I find myself easing way off of the gain and loving what I’m getting. Years ago, and I still do don’t get me wrong, playing with lots of gain. Maybe like I said I’m getting older and I like cleaning it up more I think.

My falcon and my les paul are pretty distinct sounding AND reacting to my amp. One pushed the amp harder than the other for sure and one is most definitely brighter than the other. If i had a strat, there surely be a difference with that as well. Of course i don't have all the processing going as you do. I like to hear the nature of the guitar

Everyone had its characteristics and its own flavour. I'm blown away about how good the SSS strat sounded with this thick saturated sound. It's clarity gave a special addition to the sound. The 57 lp sounded beefy as hell, very, very distinctive fot a LES Paul. Sounded huge. It's interesting to hear the things through a YouTube video, in first person they have to be really impressive to experience

The filtertrons and Les Paul P90 sounded unique. We could all pick out the strat.

Pedals, amps, settings - make all the difference

Through distortion and then digitized?
Identical!

The Strat w/ P90’s won with this crunch tone.

It’s not just the distortion. If I plug a Strat into a distorted amp the volume will be lower. He’s either adjusting the volume or using a digital processor where it’s harder to hear the nuances. I have guitars with hotter pickups than others and it’s very easy to hear the difference through a tube amp clean or dirty.

It's usually the sound of the player no matter what guitar he uses he has a set tone in his ear that he dials in every time hand another guitarist you're guitar and they will always sound different distortion will always mask the character of an instruments true voice

In a mix the differences become more apparent.
