You can pin “hang strings” (the strings usually sown in on garments to take the weight off fragile straps or to give strapless dresses straps for hanging. You can take shoe laces or ribbon and sew some in or pin some in yourself. Be careful to pin or sew into the lining only. And pin or sew lower then the bust, if possible, too close to the top, and your dress can rip. You can also hang it on a trouser hanger. (The hanger that has the bar on the bottom). I wouldn’t clip my dresses or skirts as I have found that the clips imprint on my clothes and the imprints last forever. Congrats on your soon to be wedding!

Maybe you could use the hanger with clips on the top and then another hanger near the hips, so it's still in your closet but has more support.
