I get his approach but he is definitely going to give his kids money, whether he disguises it as investing in their businesses or something else

Sorry not sorry, my kids will be home forever if they want to…they do pay for their own things and contribute to the household. 21 and 17 years old are more responsible than most kids their age nowadays. Parenting doesn’t end at age 18!

You can still teach them how the world works when they live with you.
Leaving an inheritance to your children and your grandchildren is an order from God...

Delusional advice. When you're old and need support...they won't hother because you kicked them out remember.
They need some sort of support or base until they get strong. Mum and dad's house should always be open.

Its starting to make sense why the people with money are narcissistic greed mongers....cuz their parents taught them that finances were more important than emotional wellbeing.

Putting your kids out at 17 or 18 with the dangers that are out there today---i.e. human trafficking, is pure stupidity and shows a lack of clear thinking and love. Kids do need money.Kids need protection AND wisdom.

My family do this. Lush life style, hoarding school, riding lessons, amazing parties to build a social network. I was dropped when i was born and had other brain complications. My dad spent money on my education, a truck of it. His friends used to say it would be better invested in m property to leave me millions. He always said no, what i needed was have the best education so i could have the thrill of earning it myself.. make my own decisions, be the captain of my own ship. It wasn't till i was 47 i looked at an EEG and saw my own brain 🧠 function, how the education had worked and how lucky i am to have finished a 7 stint recently as an adult. The specialist reading it was shocked at how my real life and the reading were so different. Some how my brain has done stuff through leaning that are work arounds. Conditions that i appear to have but in reality don't present or maybe did at one time but through education and practical experience it has grown new neural pathways.... i have always run at life knowing it was all on me... i knew it from the off when i was 3.5 i can remember being told this would be how it wa

Not a good idea. My cousin's parents said this then followed through at 18. They kid lived in fear for 6-10 years of his childhood dreading the day he turned 18 even though he hated how his mom treated him at home. Creates an atmosphere that says you don't want your kid around you, which is messed up imo

You're going to instill a sense of fear in your kid like oh my God once I turn 18 I'm going to be homeless

My dad’s a millionaire.
I dont want his money. I want his knowledge and teachings.
He’s such a great person. He is selfless and humble. He donates a lot, takes care of the family. And doesn’t expect anything in return. It’s more important that we are good people with good morals.

I went to boarding school at 14. I had to learn to budget the money I was sent, do laundry, grocery shopping etc…grew up young and when I travel the world, it’s not scary.

Kids need love, money ,protection, safety ,good training, good advice all the time. Parents should support their kids till the time bith think that its the confortable time if not, dont push them out just becaise they are 16/ 18.
