For me it is when womencall every man she has known a narcissist when To be diagnosed, a person has to (1) seek therapy, (2) meet enough criteria for an NPD diagnosis, and (3) recognize their behavior is negatively affecting their lives. Since most of the people we probably recognize as narcs will never seek therapy, that prevents them being included in the "1-3%" figure.
No way every woman hooks up with the same 1-3% of men.

Simple answer:
Men are taught from youth how to treat a woman but not what to expect from a woman. Women are taught what to expect from a man but never how to treat one. Once we understand this we decide to focus on what will return the best result for our investment.

I'm on my third marriage and honestly, the dynamics between men and women in romantic relationships are so thrown off that it just can't work. Generically speaking, relationships/marriages are not fair to men. If you logically look at a woman's dating expectation vs what she gives in return.... its a bad deal. A man can't even ask a woman for anything that he values without it being labeled misogynistic, narcissistic, insecure, controlling, or abusive.
