brands arenāt hiding this from us, we just have to be more conscious consumers. always read care labels when shopping in person and double check for fabric details when shopping online! there are plenty of affordable options out there that donāt contain polyester or its friends so stay mindful

It all goes down ya drain too when you wash them. Good points! It does have it's qualities, but definitely for the best quality life and clothes we all should be more considerate.

There is actually a very good reason that athletic wear companies do this outside of cost. Natural fibres like wool and cotton hold odder even after multiple washes, synthetics like polyester donāt which is why you actually want your athletic wear to be a synthetic fiber

Not a lot of people are aware or even care about this, so if itās something maybe sheās just now fully realising and wanting to share then thatās great. I appreciate that sheās sharing this information, and she might be taking steps to swap these items out of her life. She could have also gotten these from thrift shops.

Clothes are cheaper now than they used to be. Meaning, access has amplified. People who would normally not have been able to clothe themselves properly, now have access to a wardrobe of options; they finally have the ability to do so, even if itās just with āplastic.ā Be so real right now.
Youāre privileged.
People cannot afford cotton and wool, and people who are struggling cannot even find the time to research their clothing, or find out where it comes from. (For someone working three full time jobs, itās not important to them. What is important, is clothing yourself as best you can to fake it to everyone else so you donāt loose your job - because in this world, you WILL if you donāt fit the image the company has for what you should look like.)
There are quite literally HUNDREDS of things more important than not wearing polyester.
This video is designed to make those less fortunate feel lesser and like theyāre doing something wrong, just for trying to get by in this cruel world.
Must be nice to think āI donāt need these plastic clothes - Iām better than these, so I refuse to touch polyester to my skin - these canāt serve my life - Iām going to get rid of clothes that fit me, because of something as insignificant as a clothing materialā

I would rather go naked than buy polyester. It feels horrible, looks cheap AND is ruining the planet. Being an ethical consumer is hard, but I refuse to budge on this one.

This is so true And is beginning to consume me. I cant throw away all my clothes but , I have begun only buying wool ,cashmere, linen and cotton. Luckily we can find natural materials at the thrift shops. š
