re: the title of this short, in the last years i attended a church, they really did provide a gluten free communion option thanks to a few of us in the congregation (myself included) having celiac. it was a kind gesture, and felt nice that i could feel included again.
also the fig story is in mark, chapter 11 for the curious

For those who are curious the reason Jesus cursed the fig tree was as an example a Christian who doesnât produce good fruit, (aka converts more people to Christianity and properly show what a Christian should be) they will be no better than those who donât believe. Later on in the chapter (John 15) Jesus says, that in the end times people will come to him say âLord Lord did we not cast out demons and heal the sickâ Jesus will saying âI never knew youâ
