The scene where Silco finds Jinx on the bridge, when he runs towards her, his good eye runs through the “camera”. This represents how Jinx is his humanity. Whenever he turns around in his chair, he turns bad eye first. I think it’s really interesting how they use this symbolism with his goons vs with Jinx.

What's interesting is that this eye also appears in Ekko's opening scene in the episode right after this one, where he and the firelights start smashing the eye. It's quite easy to tell that the eye of Zaun is Silco, and in both this scene and the Ekko scene both eyes are purple which obviously represents royalty. Where Silco is kinda a "king" of Zaun, and before this scene Vi tells him that she's bringing his empire down, so between bringing Vi knocking the tower down and Ekko smashing the eye in the following episode, the audience can clearly tell that both characters not only want to take Silco down but also destroy his kingdom in the process.

Honestly, I've always been wondering what was up with this scene and this is pretty good. I still don't fully understand why Silco gets overly emotional and irrational when Caitlyn and Vi manage to run away, throwing everything onto the ground and falling and whatnot. Maybe he realizes for the first time that Vi being alive might ruin everything he had planned? For the future of Zaun, and particularly for Jinx?
Like you said, Arcane leaves it to the audience to decide.

Simple and plausible answer: the eye of Zaun represents Jinx, it foreshadows her later shimmer-induced eye-change and purple eyes have been connected to Jinx before (see ep5 toxic baptism scene where a purple eye opening is shown directly after Jinx is put under the water). Silco built the eye of Zaun above powder's old home (building Jinx above/from Powder) and when Vi returns, the eye comes crashing down on top of Silco, foreshadowing Jinx killing Silco in ep9.

also wanted to point out that in the Ekko intro thing the fireflies are punching an enforcer and destroying a wall with an eye drawn on it, and when it cracks it splashed shimmer all over the place. Strengthens the fireflies as a 3rd party/side perspective that you talked about in the Ekko vid, theyre literally fighting both sides :D

Eyes closed and open are also a reference to Freljord's culture (another continent in Runeterra), they believe the most honourable way to die is with their eyes open, one of Ashe's (a resident of Freljord) taunts in the game is "I hope you die with your eyes closed". Just a detail I thought was cool, considering Ashe is the leader of one of the main tribes in the place and Ambessa is a war general in Noxus

I would also mention, since you noted that the symbolic eye is always open, that Silco cannot close his bad eye. If you look closely, he never blinks with it, and it's wide open at all times. The toxins in the river literally ate away his eyelid, preventing him from ever closing that eye to what is happening in Zaun.

Silco placing eye symbols specifically above the entrance of the Last Drop and above Vi's old home is so petty, but also such a power move. Honestly, when Vi stepped out to meet him in ep6, I kinda expected him to say 'Did you see what I did there?' :p
