Learning how to gather energy from the ground and delivering a relaxed, yet explosive punch is essential for Russian Systema, especially the Vertical Punches. It is also important for the internal styles of Kung Fu.
Practicing Candle Flame Punch is a very fun and efficient method to develop good mind body connection, relaxation, coordination, as well as polishing your striking technique, and you can easily include it in your Martial Arts training at home.
It does not matter if you hate Systema or not, Systema punch training will definitely benefit your power generation.

You know it’s legit when you can do this without a gi on. Too many times I see this done from guys with a full sleeve gi or long kung fu top, most of the work being done by “cloth power”.
But this, this is how it should be done. Nicely done

I like how you kept the wave small and subtle - not a lot of telegraph. I never thought to try my tichok on a candle before. In my youth in kyokushin they'd have us do the candle drill with reverse punch as homework, but what you have here is more practical imo. I did manage to pull it off with a tichok despite my decreptitude. Maybe if my son ever wakes up I'll have him video me

Hey,
What would you advise a complete noob to martial arts to do? Which excercises?

Nice punch, speed and precision.
In tongbeiquan we use it occasionally, but mostly we do punches similar to Karate, this is like taiji or xingyi.
