I was an EVOC instructor. The fire truck was wrong.

The fire truck is supposed to yield at every intersection to prevent collisions rather in the right or at fault.

Emergency vehicles should be prepared to observe local traffic laws at any junctions. They have no rights to barge through any situations that may arise.

Fire truck fault for sure, you gotta watch out for them trucks. It takes a while for it to slow down after acceleration at a high speed

If I was driving that fire truck I don't care who's in the right I am not going to drive in front of that semi. Hahaha stupidity.

Just because it’s an emergency vehicle doesn’t make it exempt from the laws of physics… NO WAY he should’ve pulled out there … that being said both drivers had decisions to make in a fraction of a second

Depends on if the semi was speeding. We don't have enough info.

Naw...that trucker was vigilant... it happened fast and it was the TRUCK DRIVER that prevented the accident... the firetruck rolled right on in to traffic...sirens or not they have to stop before merging unless 1000% clear

80,000 lbs rolling at cruising speed? Fire Truck driver needed to rethink

At the speed he was going, there's no way he could've slowed down enough to stop.

The Fire 🚒 Fire Truck with going Off Should have to Slow down, I don't if Anyone Ever Jump into an 18 WHEELERS CAB it's TOTALLY LOUD with Riding have WINDOWS Down inside CAB is a Different COMBINATION. 18 WHEELERS Have The Right of Way without having to MaKe a 🛑 Stop Signs, Fire Fighter KNOWS about the 18 WHEELERs a Trucker Heard The at LAST Minutes

Fire truck is at fault. Just because they have their lights on doesn't mean they don't have to pay attention. If that trucked loaded max gross weight no way he could have stopped, and if he slowed to fast maybe his load would have shifted causing more of a hazard.

The fire truck Did not start his sirens until it's seen that truck and knew it blew through that.Stop sign complete disregard for oncoming traffic

He had plenty of time to see, and slow down if not possibly could have stopped

Personally I'd say this is on the trucker. I saw this video earlier and the guy acts like the firetruck came out of nowhere when that ENTIRE exit ramp is completely visible. I drive a couple hundred miles everyday and I'd be shook if that dude says he didn't see the other giant red truck with lights coming. Guy had plenty of time to stop or at the very least low down significantly if he was truly paying attention to his surroundings. As someone who is driving a multi ton death trap at highway speeds, you need to know everything thats going on within your braking distance. I blame the trucker tbh. Maybe the loads too heavy or what not, but even then he had plenty of time to slow down for an incoming emergency vehicle. No matter if they're required to yield or not.
