Suspiria by this Director was a TRIP. The reimagining from a few years ago also goes extremely hard for a modern horror movie, one of my faves. But the In-Your-Face unapologetic Surrealism of Dario's original is just so mesmerizing and strangely wonderful!
(I have no idea if I'd like Dario Argento's other work, however. Suspiria might very well just be perfect concept with perfect visuals!)

See, your impression is interesting, because I was a child in the ‘70s and our local commercial t.v. stations, which were Radio Caracas Televisión and Venevisión, played all sorts of random stuff all afternoon every afternoon throughout the ‘70s and very early ‘80s, which is how my 8- and 9-year-old self wound up raised on Italian exploitation films (albeit in black and white and in Spanish!), and today when I hear Goblin or indeed any similar soundtracks I immediately think “Horror! Crime! Suspense! Italians speaking with their hands! Low budget! A kind of grimy post-psychedelic feel!” which only heightens the experience for me, so I suspect it’s all a matter of what you’re acclimated to.

Honestly shocked you didn't watch Suspiria, his most famous and acclaimed film (and the most acclaimed of the whole Giallo genre period).
Even better, the same group does the soundtrack only this time it's absolutely incredible. Check out the main theme (simply titled Suspiria) and tell me it isn't the single most Halloween witch ass song you have ever heard

Dario Agento is hugely over rated. He's made maybe 2 good movies. And they're not that great. If you wanna watch something odd and atmospheric, Possession by Andrzej Żuławski is pretty psychologically jarring.

Suspiria is one of my favorite horror movies. The soundtrack is also by Goblin. It’s actually good in Suspiria tho
