I had the pleasure of flying with Dan when I was based in Houston. He didn't mind talking about his time with the Blues and even gave me pointers on how to prepare for my upcoming off probation check ride. Just a great guy, I'll never forget the privilege I felt flying with him.

I was on active duty in 1965 at concert point Rhode Island and the angels came in to perform and they asked a bunch of us waves to be duty drivers… So I was a duty driver for the blue angels and that was so cool

This is a beautiful example of doing the right thing; helping and encouraging a little boy. Most of these guys are this real and are caring people. I cut my teeth watching the Blue Angles, we rarely missed a show in our area. My dad was a Navy RIO in the F4s, so it was always a family event to go see them.

When I was 7 I got to sit in a F9 at Naval Air Station Olathe during an airshow. It was definitely an influence among others when I was young. I retired as a 747 Capt.
