This Australian surfer was attacked by a shark from behind and fell into the water while sitting on his board waiting for his turn in the JBay Open competition in Jeffrey's Bay, Eastern Cape province.
As he swept across the water, two fins emerged, and with a splash, he disappeared beneath the surface. Later, he was seen trying to swim to safety before a rescuer pulled him out of the water.
