I did it. I finally bought a Twin Reverb. I'm done. This is what I've always wanted and I will never need another amp.
*Stares at a Victory Super Dutchess*
Okay, but it's lightweight and my twin is a really big pain to haul around, and I already have a nice lightweight cab to go with it, but after this, I will really never need another amp. For real this time.
*a wild 5150 appears*

A friend of my neighbors (late 40s , full time Job and half drunk) was playing the solo to Stairway and I asked "How long you been playin' man! and he said "A little less than 6 months "
He'd had no lessons and practiced an hour a day and could play anything classic rock. I knew he was full of it but I just went along with it. I think if he'd been honest he might have been embarrassed or something.

It's nice to see a couple people point out that "the tone is in the fingers" and "tone wood matters"- regarding a solid body electric, are false.
I've seen both of those comments many times and generally I'm the only one in the thread to disagree; I think one of the reasons such myths get so popular is people like to be agreed with, and the sheer volume of repetitions of those pop myths has made everybody feel safe to say such silly things, knowing that lots of players will chime in lauding and echoing the "wisdom".

Lmao...after playing 60 years I can confirm that I have said almost all of them, especially "this is the last guitar I buy"
