When #UPROXX contacted me to share my story; I freaked out (as I tried to keep my composure over zoom). It was a big deal to me. Why? Because I went on this crazy journey back in 2016 to leave my cushy job and seek for an opportunity with a purpose. Opportunities came, and I took them (knowing it wasn't the perfect situation, but because it looked good from the outside. I thought I could win with just pure hard work). Well that was my young, naive self talking. 🙃 I did things then because I felt the outside world was asking for it. When not one, but two of those big opportunities came along just as fast as it came crashing down, I realized it just didn’t work bc I went into it with the wrong intentions.

At the start of 2019 I feel like I finally WOKE up for the first time in my life. I stopped caring what others thought of me, stopped filtering my voice because I was afraid, and I decided to go after the things I actually cared about. Sharing my story with UPROXX means more than just sharing my vision for UPRISERS. It's a confirmation to myself that when I live my truth, connect and work alongside folx with the same vision for the world, that things begin to click.

This isn't to say I've figured everything out. I'm nowhere close. But what I know is that I'm on the right path. Hope this BTS will give you a glimpse of a day in the life with UPROXX. Quarantine style.
