For the eclipse, don't forget the ol' reflection trick! All you need is a pretty full bucket of water, stand with your back to the sun, and watch the eclipse in the bucket. Only prep needed is to do it far enough in advance so the water has a chance to quit sloshing around around after you hoist it outside. Small view, but safe. I myself got caught unprepared and used this technique several years ago, and I promise it works
