Back when Friends were invented, Tales of Power and Separate Reality were the two poster climbs for the new cams. ToP was always harder, but SR got significantly easier when a part of the lip fell off and exposed a new very good handhold where the old crux used to be. (I climbed SR in its original form in 1981, didn't dare to try ToP!)

I rapped off TOP back in 1983 or 1984 with Dave Rose to photograph Hidetaka Suzuki and it was one of the most graceful, controlled bit of climbing I’ve ever seen.

Such a rush man, I took a whip on this nice crack in Joshua tree no where near as tall as that but man I definitely had to change my shorts after that one, terrible gear placement and was much higher above my last piece of pro then you ever wanna be haha
