He was right on the edge of really blowing up, hed gotten sober, cleaned his life up and was really coming into his own right when he died. He was getting ready to peak as far as musical material and performances. And thats really saying something considering the material and especially the performances hed already done. Wish i couldve seen him live, and live a lot longer as well. Great job on getting and staying sober sir. Its the hardest thing to do IMO. Rest in Peace

That was one of the best interviews from Stevie that I heard about Jimi.

Saddest thing about SRV is that he’d just gotten clean after years of substance abuse…and was experiencing a resurgence in his life and his career…and then we lost him.

As far as I know, Stevie was humble with great affection for all musicians. I’ve never heard him disparaging anyone. A class act of a man gone way too soon. Respect. 👈

Stevie was my favorite guitar player. I love Jimi and without Jimi you don't have alot of the guitar players we all know. I could listen to Stevie's music all day long. I was heartbroken when we lost both of these guys. Just imagine how much more they could have given us.

I like what Jimi Hendrix said:
"When the power of LOVE OVERCOMES the love of power
Then there will be peace".

Steve Ray was in a class by himself. Second to none. May he rest in peace.

The day that Stevie Ray passed I was running an open mic at a local club. I spent the day calling every guitar player I knew in town and that night we kicked out the jam in his name. I can't believe what a wonderful guy he was. Thoughtful, humble, and at the end of his life sober. He died sober and for recovering alcoholics that's very very important. His membership in AA and his sobriety is perhaps just as important as his success as a musician, maybe even more so because alcoholics and drug addicts the end is either institutionalization, prison, or death. And Stevie Ray Vaughan proved that AA in the 12 steps can renew life.

I miss the hell out of this guy. I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn many times. I'll never forget the time he opened for Jeff Beck in Cleveland Oh back in the day. The two came out at the end and just blew everyone's face off. One of my favorite concerts of all time. RIP Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jeff Beck.

It hurts me a little while listening to him and watching him speak, he was special, fire and blood, on the guitar,,,

I’m 36 and I’m just learning guitar now. I’ve always loved music but man, let me tell you, I’ve been listening to Stevie for years now and every time is like the first time!
