I actually had a service writer hand me a repair order for a Lincoln Town Car once where the owner was complaining that the emblems on the wheels were always 'wrong' when he parked his car. I tried to explain things to the service writer and the customer, but got no where with either, so I just turned the wheels on the lift and set the car down. The customer was back a half dozen times with the same complaint. That's when we stopped putting real customer numbers on the repair orders. We knew that FoMoCo would call the customer and ask if we fixed their car to their satisfaction, and it went against the dealer's "Satisfaction rating" that affected how their warranty claims were scrutinized.
That same customer also complained that the car leaned to the right on crowned roads.
We actually had one customer file a complaint with Ford because the paint on her car looked 'darker' at night. The car was black.

That’s awesome ! Had the same thing at hardware store with a double light switch cover. Decora (rectangular box) on one side regular toggle on the other. Lady was all pissed and frustrated that we only had ones with the toggle on the right and none with it on the left. I just turned it “upside down” , she looked at me somewhat horrified and embarrassed, grabbed it out of my hand and bolted to the register not saying a word ! 🤣

Holy crap! This kind of happened to me too. I was greasing and packing wheel bearings on a Bronco for an older retired friend. It's on the lift , as I'm putting on the last hub and nearly done he stops me. Makes me look at the other side. The "Warn" hub label reads upside down on this side. In his 80 year old Brooklyn accent he smirks and says...."You better make sure they are either both up, or both down. That'll bug the shit outta me every time I see it." Oh I see, lol. I play it up like I REALLY don't want to bother to fix it. "It's really more work than it's worth, because who's gonna notice?" Then I give the wheel a half a spin. "There...that's .05 seconds I'll never get back!" He starts laughing his ass off and say "I'm done! I'm just gonna shut up. You want more coffee?" I did rotate each tire to PERFECT level to read the hub once I let it off the lift. ;)

Great story! Reminds me of a neighbor that installed a surveillance camera on his porch snd, to make it easier, he installed it upside down, on a beam - the following day he disassembled it and went to the store, complaining that it was faulty and the image was upside down - he couldn't understand why everybody burst laughing :-)

Warn hubs are so well acknowledged in 4wd that nothing else seems to get considered. My '75 K20 came with big Spicer hubs that I loved. Unfortunately a weakness was revealed during one winter. The plastic center piece cracked when I tried to lock it in below zero wind chill. It was an easy fix and I found a way to prevent a recurrence by proper lubricant usage.

Smart guy you are!!
I worked weekends at a service station when I was stationed in Florida.
Had a car on the rack and the manager came out and said the customer wants his tires rotated also. I spun a tire, the manager called me some name that wasn’t on my shirt, the customer is having a good laugh over it
