At least visually, the hardshell appears to be less unstable and more secure. The softshell looks more wobbly and feels less safe when trains pass through curves at higher speeds.

Honestly I like both of them. Whatever is the best, I hope that the next batch of R211’s and future subway cars has open gangways in them. It’s great for movement & it prevents subway surfing on top of subway trains. We NEED this from this day forward.

soft shell imakes tha gangways a lot more open and spacious but I think hard shell is probably more durable to the conditions and provides more protection from the elements
