I'm an only child and can confirm that no...we don't get lonely. You can't miss what you've never had. Only children grow up fiercely independent and are equipped to entertain themselves. Plus our parents dote on us so much and we'd never want to share that with siblings...lol. As long as she has schoolmates or relatives that she occasionally has playtime with, she will be fine ❤

I was an only child and never ever felt lonely. When I was very small my mom would sit with me every time she had spare time and I would just draw and other stuff next to her.

My life as an only child was amazing! My parents were able to expose me to so much culture and different people, just like this! We followed the Grateful Dead during Summer 1 yr when I was a child. I am 45 now and am so happy with life. Not everyone wants or needs more than 1 kid.

Only child here and can’t confirm… I may not be lonely in the traditional sense, I have amazing friends. What got to me was always being in the middle of everything! My parents separated when I was really young and I was always in the middle of their “discussions” and now at 26 years old, they both got really sick on opposite sides of the country! I now have to deal with it on my own and no one really understands what I’m going through….
My friends and my boyfriend try to support me as much as possible but they can’t possibly know what it’s like so loneliness hits pretty hard 😢

I'm an only child and I did get lonely. I'm 35 and both my parents are dead. Mom died at 24 dad at 35. They both were 60 when they died. I learned how to entertain myself most definitely. But yes it does get lonely and that was before both my parents died

I’m an only child.. I’ve never wished for siblings. While my mom didn’t raise me, my dad did. I’m 35 and he’s still my best friend to this day. There’s this unbreakable bond with your parents when you’re the only child. Not to mention, the independence, imagination, creativity, self reliance, etc.. more than thrives when you’re the only one!
